Come and Behold Women's Seminary
Master of Arts in
Theological Studies
Equipping women for theological scholarship, Spirit-led ministry, and deep spiritual formation.
The first women's seminary
since 1920
Come and Behold is the first women's seminary founded since 1920. In the early twentieth century, women's theological seminaries were largely absorbed into male-led institutions. While this integration advanced equality, it also resulted in fewer women educators — today, women represent less than one-third of full-time seminary faculty. As a result, many theological questions central to women — embodied discipleship, caregiving vocations, relational leadership, and trauma-informed pastoral care — are frequently underrepresented in theological curricula.
Between 2003 and 2019, weekly church attendance among women declined from 48% to 31% — a 17-point drop, far steeper than the 6-point decline among men. Gen Z women now attend church less frequently than Gen Z men: 28% versus 40% weekly. These trends point to an urgent need: intentional theological spaces where women's God-given perspectives are valued and formed — not only for their own spiritual growth, but for the Church's fuller witness and vitality.
A disciple. A theologian.
A woman of the Spirit.
A curriculum grounded in
biblical feminine anthropology
Our curriculum is built upon biblical feminine anthropology — the study of what Scripture reveals about women as image-bearers of God — and the Hebrew concept of CHAYIL (valor), drawn from Proverbs 31. We believe that rigorous theological formation and Spirit-led wisdom belong together. Through scholarship, formation, and community, we prepare women to lead with authority, clarity, and grace.
As Scripture declares, "The Lord gives the word; the women who announce the news are a great host" (Psalm 68:11). We stand in alignment with the biblical precedent of women actively participating in God's mission. Rooted in orthodox Christian doctrine and the Judeo-Christian tradition, we ascribe to the Nicene Creed and uphold the foundational tenets of the historic Christian faith.
